THANKSGIVING BREAK- hooray!

Today my good friend in the ward, Hawley, her sister Julie, her brother Jeff, and I are heading northwest to Basin City, Washington. It is a small town, with lots of space and the outdoors, which is somewhat closer to what I grew up with, in comparison to a more populated Utah Valley. It is just what is needed! Cool! Hopefully pictures will be added after the trip.

Time to Think

This week I have been out of commission and haven't gone to work. However, I am planning on going back to work tomorrow. Today I felt so nauseous I felt as if I was about to pass out sitting in a chair...you know, got light headed, seeing a bit of black, cold/sweaty feeling/heart racing....not fun.

Because of all this extra thinking time I have been able to think about all the things I am grateful for and of the future.

Things I am Grateful for Today:

1. Family (Mom, Dad, Joe, Carrie, Kelsey, Ken, Ruth, William, Peter, Sawyer, and those yet to come. :)
2. The gospel of Jesus Christ
3. Being able to have a healthy body, exercise, and eat healthily
4. My nice apartment
5. A working car that at least I think is pretty snazzy
6. Friends!
7. My calling
8. How beautiful this fall has been
9. The opportunity to be home for 2 months last summer
10. Lately, homemade fajitas...yum.
11. Also, slightly frozen fruit (raspberries, strawberries, pineapple, peaches, etc.) in plain yogurt with added sugar...exquisite!

Exciting Future Plans:

1. Thanksgiving in Basin City, Washington with the Hawkins
2. Seeing the kids I love at school!
3. Forgotten Carols concert
4. Festival of Trees in South Jordan
5. The Christmas season!!
6. Seeing family again over Christmas break

Sunday Afternoon Photo Shoot

Taken 10/26/08 These pictures are all from Ken and Kelsey's blog. Yes, I basically stole them, but with good reason. My camera is temporarily missing:( I also feel I have the liberty to do this, because I took them! In the case that I didn't take the picture, I might have just used them anyhow:) Here Kelsey and I are posing.
Kelsey and Ken were celebrating their 1 1/2 year anniversary that day.
This is roughly the spot on campus where my father proposed to my mother and also where my older brother proposed to my sister-in-law. Ken and Kelsey had their own engagement spot but it was fun to reenact the past! We laughed a lot while taking these.
Ken and Kelsey are sooo fun. They are the greatest brother and sister here in Utah! Ken, I am so glad you married Kelsey. She loves you and needs you. She should also listen to you a little bit more:)

Today's Blessing

It has been a long time since my last post. The reasons for this are several; business with work, social life, calling, and the increasing amount and variety of tasks that fill time. The major reason being...... I damaged my work's computer, which I am allowed to use for personal use. It was spilled water on my MacBook. It was just my glass of water on my desk at home. It would not stay on longer than 5 seconds, and I heard a lot of crackling when I tried to start the computer over and over and left the battery in (apparently that is exactly what you should not do) SCARY! After calling the Technology Department for my school district, the news was grim. I would be responsible for the damages. The worst case scenario would be paying for the purchase of a replacement computer, which is $1,200. Ouch! Well, today I got a call that my computer returned from the Apple location in Memphis, Tennesee. I brought my wallet and checkbook to pay for the damage I had caused when I arrived at the Technology Department. They brought it out and apparently they had to replace a battery connection piece, logic board, and something else that I had never heard of before. Then I looked at the bill...........$0.00.

WOW! They must have been in a forgiving mood that day, because policy states that in cases of abuse to computers (such as my liquid spill), employees are required to pay for repair costs.

I said a long prayer of thanks as I left the building. What a blessing it is to have the district or Apple absorb the cost (or maybe it was under a warranty still?) Either way, I am a happy woman!
